Massive 1lb Mozzarella Stick in Bloomfield, NJ

After hearing great things about The Brookdale, I decided it was time to stop by with my girls and I was not disappointed! Since we had reservations, we were sat upon arriving so definitely book ahead on OpenTable if you plan on visiting. The staff were also incredibly kind and accommodating!

The menu has great options but we narrowed it down to the Caesar Salad, Chilaquiles without chicken, and a 1lb Mozzarella stick for this visit!

-Chilaquiles (corn tortilla / salsa verde / pickled onions / cotija / chicken / fried egg)

-Caesar Salad (baby romaine / parmesan crisp)

-1lb Mozzarella Stick w/ marinara sauce

The food came out nice & hot and everything was beautifully presented. The Chilaquiles had the most perfect sunnyside egg on top and were extremely flavorful. I'm a sucker for pickled onions so I really enjoyed this dish for my brunch. I also shared the Caesar Salad with my sister and I loved the huge Parmesan crisp on top and how creamy the dressing was. Lastly, the star of the show, the 1lb Mozzarella stick was fried to perfection with loads of melted cheese and the breading was actually flavorful. I enjoyed as much as I could but the entire Mozzarella stick was too much to tackle for three people with our meals. Maybe next time, but it is not for the weak!

Overall, I enjoyed my time at The Brookdale and would recommend stopping by next time you're in town! The food was delicious, the staff were great and the ambiance was very chill. I would gladly go back and next time I will definitely try out a drink or two!
